Wrestling Team Holding Fundraiser

Drive 4 UR SchoolThe Monticello High School Wrestling team will be holding a fundraiser at Rick Ridings Ford on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 9:00am–4:00pm.  Ford and Rick will combine to donate $20 per test drive to our team.  Come visit us under the tent to sign up, take a short test drive in a new ford vehicle, and earn money for the team!  A flyer for the event can be downloaded, by clicking HERE.

7th Annual Career Day Planned

Office ChairsMHS students will have the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of careers at our 7th Annual Career Day on Wednesday, April 15th.  Students will attend 4 forty-minute presentations given by speakers of their choice.  The day will conclude with a message from the keynote speaker, Scott Easton.  A big  ‘Thank You!!” goes to all of the speakers who have agreed to share their experiences and insights with our students.

National Honor Society Members Honored

On March 19th Monticello High School recognized the accomplishments of 77 students.  Thirty-one seniors were honored as second year members of National Honor Society and 46 juniors and seniors were inducted as first year members.  The charter of the Monticello High School National Honor Society stipulates that membership is reserved for juniors and seniors who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.75 on our 4.0 scale or a 5.75 on our weighted scale; amassed a minimum number of points for involvement in MHS activities; and demonstrated good moral character.

Voting Now Open For $10,000 MTI Grant

The MTI $10,000 High School Grant Program awards $10,000 to eligible area high schools and career and vocational centers to assist in the purchasing of equipment, renovating shops and labs, and obtaining the necessary resources for classroom instruction.  The program also supports the incorporation of real-world job preparation and hands-on training with a more conventional high school educational experience.

Winners of the 2014-2015 High School Grant Program will be announced on or about May 6, 2015 following a period of public voting on MTI's Facebook pages.  Parents, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to show support for their school by voting for their favorite video.
