In an abundance of caution, the Lincoln School Small Wonders Pre-School Program will go to 100% Remote Learning through Wednesday, November 11. We have been informed that one employee and one student in our Small Wonders Pre-School Program at Lincoln School have tested positive for COVID-19. While all safety and cleaning procedures have been followed to the greatest extent possible, preliminary contact-tracing shows that likely all students, faculty and staff in our pre-school program are close contacts. All other grades and classrooms at Lincoln School are open for in-school learning.

We have been informed that three students at Monticello High School have tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing by Dewitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department is on-going. It is apparent that these cases may lead to multiple close contacts resulting in a required quarantine of other students. In an abundance of caution while we are awaiting contact tracing to be completed by Dewitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department, Monticello High School will go to 100% Remote Learning for the week of October 19 - October 23rd. While COVID cases are spiking in the area, please reconsider attending social events where multiple individuals may be congregating in groups without maintaining social distancing or without wearing masks. All safety and cleaning procedures have been followed at Monticello High School in order to minimize risk and the potential spread of COVID-19 to others. Meals: Distribution day for high school students is Tuesday, October 20th outside MHS cafeteria from 11-11:30AM. Parents need to sign-up in advance for lunch/breakfast pickup. Breakfast and lunch for the week will be included in each distribution. The deadline to sign up is 10 AM on Monday, October 19th. https://forms.gle/SrxD52NnCnhyGdCcA Extracurriculars: All out of season extracurricular activities are suspended until further notice. In season extracurricular activities are suspended until contact tracing has been completed at Monticello High School. Information regarding specific activities as well as resuming extracurricular activities will be forthcoming. MHS 100% Remote Learning Schedule: All students, in-person and at home learners, will follow the schedule below. M, T, W, TH: Office hours by appointment - 8:00 - 11:00AM and 2:30 - 3:30PM Monday and Wednesday are A Days A1 11:30 - 12:45 A4 1:00 - 2:15 Tuesday and Thursday are B Days B1 11:30 - 12:45 B3 1:00 - 2:15 Friday: Remote planning for Teachers , Office hours by appointment daily COVID-19 may cause severe symptoms, although many cases are asymptomatic (have no symptoms). Watch your student and yourself for possible symptoms of COVID-19. They occur most often 3-7 days after exposure but may take as long as 14 days to develop. Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, diarrhea, muscle aches, loss of sense of taste or smell, fatigue, and shortness of breath, among others. COVID-19 is very contagious, starting 3 days before symptoms appear and lasting until most symptoms begin to improve, generally about 10 days. People who have COVID-19 must be isolated in separate rooms with separate dining and bathroom facilities. The virus SARS CoV-2 causes it. Treatment is very limited. Some medications do help persons in the hospital. No vaccine is currently available, although scientists are working to develop one by early 2021. If your child or anyone in your household has or develops symptoms: 1. Contact your regular health care provider to discuss the symptoms. Ask if anyone in the home needs to be evaluated. If your doctor advises testing, be aware that it is best performed at least 3 days after exposure to a person with COVID-19. 2. Until the symptoms resolve, avoid contact with others who have not had COVID-19. Do not attend school, day care, work, parties or other gatherings. If you or anyone else in your household has a weakened immune system or is pregnant, call your doctor. For further questions, please call the Dewitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department at 217.762.7911.
